after MONTHS of seeing people wearing these things and thinking they looked stupid and why would anyone wear an item that adds inches to their arse, takes inches off their legs and hangs down in the crotch area in the manner of a toddler with a wee-filled nappy on ??

bizarrely, i have now started to see people wearing them and actually thinking they look pretty stylish and -gulp- SEXY? ie, when worn with a tight vest kinda top (balances out the voluminous-ness) and flat shoes (perhaps flip flops or gladiators)

and now i want a pair! am i mad? or (i suspect) just a fashion victim sheep that always gets into trends late

Avoid. They are hideous.

I also hear that the "body" is coming back in - does no one remember why we stopped wearing those the first time? I thought "footless tights" were bad enough (especially when worn instead of trousers, I have no interest in seeing arse flesh through the not opaque leggings thanks)

All new looks look odd, then suddenly you get used to them (yes, even crotch-swinging kecks)and they start to look like something you might actually a) like b) buy c) wear.

I never thought I'd buy skinny jeans/maxi dress for day wear/clogs - now I have them all.

Not tried harem pants, but I do have some baggy black silk pants, quite low crotched, (Top Shop) which narrow and wrinkle at the calf and ankle and they look very good belted in and with a plain cream silk blouse and heels.

I've seen some truly hideous examples of the harem pant on the high street..........Including a woman in the park at the weekend who had a snot green pair with the crotch bagging down to mid-calf......I just couldn't stop staring!! Genuinely did look like she badly needed her nappy changed.

I think as long as the baggy bit isn't too voluminous or long you could get away with it. I would never attempt it cos I have enormous thighs and would have chafing ishoos

I like them, and bought a black pair and wore them to my work. I had an entre day of comments such as 'Arrr me hearty' and MC Hammer jibes. I also got asked if I was wearing my pyjamas, and told I looked as though I was wearing jobby catchers.

They have now been confined to the back of my wardrobe....

Bandgeek, PMP! I can imagine the tediousness of that by the end of the day!

YABVVVVVVVU, sexy , stylish right are we talking about a garment that makes the wearer look lie they are wearing an overfilled nappy. Join Jasonthunderpants and his bad dress sense, someone already posted a link
