to think I can pass my driving test on one of those intensive thingies?

Just failed another driving test today. Automatic car. 16 errors: one serious on a manoeuvre (clipped the kerb: totally stupidly had fixated on using the double white lines as a reference point but the junction was unmarked. D'oh!); one serious related to passing too close to parked cars six times, all of which happened after the manoeuvre where I knew I'd failed and I just lost a bit of faith/focus. My bad.

No minors on observations, control, roundabouts, junctions, response to signs and signals, turn in the road, position and stops etc. So basically, I can drive but need more practice at driving around parked cars in incoming traffic.

Not even nervous any more, have had millions of lessons, hadn't made an error or a left reverse in WEEKS.. I just need to get the monkey off my back. All my fails have related to freaking out on the manouvres and then losing my focus after doing something I knew was a fail.

Are those intensive courses worth it? I would have to find childcare but I really, really need to pass now.

Only thing is, I'm quite friendly with my driving instructor (we probably have spent too much time nattering which hasn't helped) so I want to go out of area. I have this dream that I could learn to drive by the sea somewhere in Wales or somewhere in Scotland, dh could take ds to the beach and have a lovely time and we could come home from our holidays free of this driving monkey on our family's back.

If not, can anyone recommend one? Ideally central?

Bad luck on the result I feel for you. I'd recommend intensive - I passed after a five day course (after many many lessons and failures). It's a SE based firm though so no use to you as a rec sorry.

Is it the stress of the test that gets to you? Maybe doing even a couple of lessons with someone else might get you used to a "stranger" sat next to you?
