what happened?

Shaz10 · 25/07/2010 19:51

Was their thirst quenched in an uneventful way?

AnnoyingOrange · 25/07/2010 19:52

Shaz

that's what happens to mine

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 25/07/2010 19:53

He was sooooooooo happy, bouncing around the house, leaping off the sofa etc etc. think I might start drinking them!

Do they really make kids hyper?? Or is the whole thing a bit OTT?

I too had a strange and disturbing experience after giving my 2 dcs a fruit shoot - they both said thank you and went back to playing!! Life here will never be the same again.

DuncanDisorderly · 25/07/2010 19:55

my dd had three on the trot today and she was fine. I think it's all rubbish about hyperactivity.

SalFresco · 25/07/2010 19:56

I tasted a Fruit Shoot for the first time the other day in McD's. It had a weird aftertaste! I am always strict about not letting DS1 have fizzy stuff, but now I don't think there is much point, having tasted that. Coke surely can't be worse...!

sapphireblue · 25/07/2010 20:10

They taste disgusting to me but I'm with shaz......no worrying reactions going on in our house!

sunny2010 · 25/07/2010 20:18

I dont think it gives you hyperactivity at all. My daughter has them and I drink them, and I dont see what the big deal is.

PosieParker · 25/07/2010 20:20

I read that it is very rare for any child to be affected by certain foods or additives.

TrillianAstra · 25/07/2010 20:23

I like Shaz's answer

TrinityRhino · 25/07/2010 20:27

I'm with Shaz

Seona1973 · 25/07/2010 20:36

doesn't bother mine either.

Ineed2 · 25/07/2010 20:39

Maybe your kids don't have a reaction to them, but many do and why would you deliberatly give a child a bottle full of chemicals??

PerArduaAdNauseum · 25/07/2010 20:44

They make DS hyper (esp the sugar free ones). Happily, the last time DS had one he then went to the loo 3 times in an hour, so I'm able to persuade him to avoid them now.

They are vile.

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 25/07/2010 20:45

Having googled it, there are loads of studies suggesting a link. The IOW study seemed very conclusive, enough to make me think I was daft to buy them today.

'Full of chemicals'

What else could you give your child a bottle full of? I suppose you could give them a vacuum but then it wouldn't exactly be full.

Shaz10 · 25/07/2010 20:47

I gave my 1 year old a bottle of chemicals today. Hydrogen and oxygen it was. Who's going to call the police?

hmc · 25/07/2010 20:50

Lol Shaz

TrillianAstra · 25/07/2010 20:50

Dangerous Shaz - do you know the ratio of the two - I hear some very bad things if it was 2 hydrogen for every oxygen - read here for more info
