To snigger at my bitchy neighbour?

I get on OK with my neighbours, but they are bitchy, I know that, and I know they talk about me behind my back.
When I say 'they', I mean next door and her family. Her, both her sisters and Mum live in the street, in separate houses.

Anyway, earlier I warned her I was having a barbecue, by that I mean for DD and I, not inviting people over, but her washing was on the line so only fair to tell her.

I've just overheard her on the phone saying, 'and then she put on slices of cheese, who barbecues cheese'?

FFS it was halloumi.

I know I shouldn't, but it made me laugh.

halloumi is scrumptious, but a slice contains nearly all your daily salt allowance . Not as shocking as your neighbours though.

i live in the US, the home of 'grilling' and if you get a cheeseburger, they grill both side, then put the cheese on top & cover it for a few mins so the cheese is all melty & yummy.

you should have just called over the fence 'yep, tell her it's halloumi, that makes it ok'
