To think my new GP is downright nosey?

I eventually book an appointment to see my new GP as I have recently moved area. This was what se asked me:

Do you have kids?
What birth control are you on? - maybe I'm not!
What do you think of the people in this area?

So, I'm fine with that and then we get to:

Why did you move?
What does your OH do for work and where does he work?
Are schools important to you? - Where the hell did that question come from?
What schools do your kids go to?

NONE OF YOUR BLOODY BUSINESS!

Perhaps just trying to break the ice and be friendly?

"what do you think of the people in this area"???

what on earth did you say to that?

YetAnotherIssue · 23/07/2010 16:53

I said everyone seems nice. Was so taken aback by the school question though. I think she was a bit of a snab and wanted to know how my cloth was cut!

Will she also be your children's GP? We have to put GP details on the contact information sheet that the school holds for each child and it's standard for your GP to know which school the children attend. That could be the case here.

As to 'what do you think of people in this area?' and 'Are schools important to you?', no idea, sorry!

After that I've decided to register them with the school GP!

I think he fancies you

Oh, she likes you and respects your opinion on schools.

I used to corner people I liked the look of in my area and ask which schools their child went to. I actually found DS1's nursery this way...one mum I asked (after she started a conversation about something quite different) started gushing about her DC's nursery.

I've no idea about the rest of it....My be she lives near you, has children the same age and wants to be your friend?

Or maybe she's just odd.

YetAnotherIssue · 23/07/2010 18:00

Given her age I doubt she needs any advice from me. I've never met anyone nosier than me before!

My guess would be that she's new to the area and trying to get to know her way around too?
