Sheesh. I was just looking at that thinking 'it's not that bad' when I realised it wasn't for a child!

There is a woman on my sister's estate that has a pram for her dog who is old and can't walk very far. An all terrain version is a bit OTT though.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 22/07/2010 22:23

i have a jack/westie x and he'd last about 2 seconds in that! surely the point of taking your dog for a walk is to exercise them?

and I thought the handbag thing was bad enough.

catinboots · 22/07/2010 22:26

my 5 year old Jack Russell is blind due to a congenital defect - that would actually be great for him!! He loves coming out on walks but gets SO left behind by the other dogs

mumof2children · 22/07/2010 22:27

i thought what the big deal, until i realise it was for a pet

TheCrackFox · 22/07/2010 22:33

I saw a woman pushing an alsatian in a normal buggy. I tried really hard not to stare but failed miserably.

pirateparty · 22/07/2010 22:37

My MIL used to take her dog out in a pram (when he had a bad back and his legs weren't working properly) and, unsuprisingly, used to get lots of funny looks - but this is on a different level

I'll have to let her know

thefirstmrsDeVere · 22/07/2010 22:39

What a waste of money.

My dog just shares the pram with DS

my cat would hate love one of those

Valpollicella · 22/07/2010 22:57

If a dog needs to be carted about in a pushchair, surely it's quality of life isn't that great?

pinkmagic1 · 22/07/2010 23:02

I have actually seen someone with one of these at a local car boot sale recently. Took a peek expecting to see a cute newborn and did I get a shock!

SirBoobAlot · 22/07/2010 23:02

That's like a blue version of DSs old buggy...

PandaEis · 22/07/2010 23:03

this would be IDEAL for that woman who breastfeeds her dog

i really doubt that many people would have the balls to walk along the road with a buggy specially made for their dog

SirBoobAlot · 22/07/2010 23:07

Bet the first old lady who wanted to see into the buggy would get a shock though...

"Aw, how old is your - AHHHHHH!"

midori1999 · 22/07/2010 23:12

I wouldn't want one, but I can see it's uses for socialising puppies that aren't vaccinated but too big to carry everywhere, or if you're an outdoorsy type who loves hill walking or something and want to take your puppy before they are old enough to walk especially far.

I have known people carry puppies in slings for socialsation instead of having to carry them.

mummysgoingmad · 22/07/2010 23:15

WTF?! YANBU i agree now i've seen it all, its a pet your supposed to walk it!

thefirstmrsDeVere · 22/07/2010 23:20

I had a 'I am beginning to look my age' moment a few months ago.

Dropped DC4 off at nursery. Was heavily prg with DC5 at the time.

Dog comes with us on school run. He is v.little and cute.

Walked out of park with dog and DS's buggy.

Young mum asked if her DCs could pet dog. We chatted for a bit.

Young mum says 'he is so sweet, and look he even has his own pram'

My delusions illusions of looking like a yummy mummy were crushed. She thought I was a batty old bird with a weight problem who pushed her chauhauha (sp whatever) around in a bloody pram !
