to want just one night of uninterrupted sleep....

My DD slept throughout the night from about 10 weeks, until about 2 months ago. Since then, she keeps waking up 2 or 3 times a night because she wriggles up the cot and then gets her head stuck in the corner at the top, so I go in, pull her back down again, and she falls straight back to sleep. Any ideas? I am becoming more and more exhausted every day, and I work full time 8.30 to 5.30. Something has to give, I've tried everything, a pillow (under her head not over it!!), tucking her in, not tucking her in, leaving her door open, I can't think of anything else to try! I went to bed at 8.30pm last night but still got woken up 4 times during the night and am shattered!

Would a cot bumper help? Don't take my word for it though, long time since I had babies. Are you putting her to sleep near the bottom of the cot?

Ladysledge · 21/07/2010 16:31

We already have a cot bumper in there. I put her down with her feet touching the bottom of her cot. She's almost 15 months old now and very tall so doesn't have to wriggle too far to get to the top!

Are you using Gro-Bags?

SalFresco · 21/07/2010 16:38

My sister went into a bed at 12 months to free up the cot for our baby sister

A junior one with high sides, or a full length bed guard, might do the trick.

Ladysledge · 21/07/2010 16:40

We were using gro bags but because she wriggles so much she was getting twisted and frustrated in it because she couldn't turn over very well. I think I just have a very wriggly baby!

My DS went from sleeping in my bed to sleeping in his own double bed at about 14 months (couldn't afford to chuck the double and buy a childs bed!) the double is against the wall and I used to put a line of pillows along the 'open edge' but have stopped doing that now - The double means that he can do more wriggling before reaching an edge!

All three of mine wer in their own 'proper' beds by the time they were 17 months at the latest.
