to use my cats as scapegoats?

Scapecats?

Have had a long evening. Much bickering. Much screeching for parental justice where it was not required or deserved. Much raiding of fridge and interrupting of mummy's watching of the Silence.

I have been patient and calm. Ish.

But one of my cats was nagging me for food. So I said to her 'FFS! Give me a break. Can't you sort anything out for yourself??' Made me feel a bit better. And a bit foolish. She ignored me.

Cats are the worst scroungers. My cats constantly hover around the food cupboard. Sometimes they get food and sometimes they get a kick up the arse. It's obviously worth the punt, in their opinion.

OrmRenewed · 13/07/2010 22:14

Oh they are. The hopeful weaving back and forth whenever you go to the kitchen. The imperious meow. The pathetic silent cry when you shut them outside....

The cat (and the dog) always gets the backlash here..

Cat bawling just as we've sat down..

'OH FFS,what do you want now? Do you wait until I've sat down etc etc' < sort of whispered under breath>

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/07/2010 22:20

I do that to my cat all the time. If he didn't deserve it right at that point, you can guarantee that he has done something or will do something to deserve a shouting at.

OrmRenewed · 13/07/2010 22:24

Ah but you cat is a big bastard! Mine is a little kittenish girlie who never did anyfing wong at all..... . And the other one is fat and slow and very stupid.

tell me about it. Just as the DC's have stopped wittering the cats take up the slack.
I have, on many an occasion, be heard to say 'oh Mini, just shut the fuck up or I will kick your pointy little teeth in and squeeze lemon juice in your eyes'

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 13/07/2010 22:31

Ha - I'd love to have a scapecat. Mine however has trained me - I'm Pavlov's human.

If I don't feed the ginger one quickly enough he bites my leg. I have tried shutting him outside but when he gets back in he just gives me have more punishment.

I'm being abused by my own cat, ungrateful self centred bastard.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/07/2010 22:34

Orm, you are correct, he is a bastard.

If you like you can shout at my cat in future (names Felix btw - I know, not very imaginative but its a bit of a family tradition name), he's used to it and will just spit and swear at you.

OrmRenewed · 14/07/2010 08:18

I knew it. Your name was a bit if a giveaway.

Mine are too ladylike to swear our loud. I think they just swear in their heads - the looks they give us sometimes suggest they do.

Ours is just fat and stupid looking! (He CHOOSES to go over to 12mo DD and lets her pull his tail or handfuls of fur out!)

He gets shouted at sometimes. He just looks at me passively and then carries on asking for food.

Could've throttled him at 5:30 this morning when I was trying to get DD back to sleep so I could get more sleep and he kept having his mad 5 minutes right outside her bedroom door, with his bloody jangling bird-safe bell!

Disenchanted3 · 14/07/2010 08:35

Poor kitty!

My itty bitty kitten can do no wrong!

Yesterday DH emptied the litter tray and obviously didn't fill it fast enough as dearest Maggie decided to piss on the toy instructions that were on the kitchen side!!!

It was DH that got in trouble though of course
