argh I'm feeling a bit guilty now! but DP is in hospital anyway, it would be just me and her sat here in complete silence all night (or knowing her, she'd be crying her eyes out over her many stupid mistakes) and we'd never get rid of her, she'd be here for good. she's been "looking for a house" for 4 years!

She doesn't hail from Guildford does she? Think I know her....

verytellytubby · 12/07/2010 22:00

Bizarre.

Where does their child live?

Angelcat666 · 13/07/2010 00:27

YANBU but then again I'd hate anyone moving in, children excluded.

solo · 13/07/2010 00:43

Angelcat, I'd hate anyone moving in too...children included!!!

DetectivePotato · 13/07/2010 09:37

Who cares what the back story is and if they are on amicable terms. YADNBU!!! Who the hell would want their ex and new partner in the same house. She has a bloody nerve. If she is that hard up she can go to the council.

Citrus81 · 13/07/2010 10:13

Honestly the woman is a complete nut. She hops from one bloke to the next trying to get an easy ride through life and it has left her homeless. She even admitted that she only got with DP in the first place because she wanted somewhere decent to live!! then a few years later she started shagging around, got caught, filed for divorce and moved straight out of DP's house into a bloke she'd just met, stayed with him for a couple of years, shagged around, has been caught out so she tried to get a relationship going with a man online - who promised her a house, a trip to florida, driving lessons, all before actually meeting her!!! now she declares him as the love of her life, despite the fact that they've never actually met, she told her current boyfriend she was leaving him to move in with this other bloke who turned out to be telling her a pack of lies and now she's homeless.

I'm sorry but my sympathy only stretches so far! bloody idiot thats she is.

So where did you say the child lives? Will the child be homeless too? Or does the child live with you already?

seeker · 14/07/2010 07:00

It's amazing how differeently you look at this sort of thing when you're 50!

So glad I'm not young any more.

Citrus81 · 14/07/2010 08:23

The child lives with us and even she doesnt want her mum here!!

LittleMissHissyFit · 14/07/2010 10:25

Ah well you see, there IS a bit of a back story...

OK so she has a heck of a lot of cojones to actually ASK...

BUT, if you don't all get on like a house on fire now, it's not going to be any better if she moves in for a while.... and without anywhere to go lined up, it'll be a lot longer than you agree to....

If her own DD doesn't want her their either, then tbh you have to say no. It's a unanimous decision.

Harsh as it is, but she will have to stay put where she is until she finds a B&B or alternative accommodation.

roses2 · 14/07/2010 10:40

How long does she want to stay?

Invite her to move in then have noisy sex with your DP every night. She'll be gone within a week.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 14/07/2010 10:51

No, No, No, No. Do not let the nutter move in, you are not her guardian. There must be a friend / relation / ex boyfriend she could move in with.

It will completely freak out her dd if you do let her.
