I'd love any help as due to re-visit our gp in an hour. I've been several times about constipation / diarrhea/ tummy pains and dd's nursery keep raising this as not normal (been going on since i stopped breastfeeding cold turkey a year ago- she.s 3 1/2). Is it a gastro something or other i want?

(sorry, you can tell i'm not medical). Also, a different doctor diagnosed her with celiac disease months ago but our gp dismissed this idea so although i want to trust he's right it worries me if could be right.

Did she have any tests for coeliac disease? Is she loosing weight or showing other symptoms?

coeliac disease is diagnosed by a blood test, and if she has it it's important to avoid wheat (?I think), so you need to get that sorted. Otherwise it may be dietary? You cd always ask for a referral to a paed? Who diagnosed coeliac? And how?

i took her to A&e once at the Chelsea and Westminster which i shouldn't have as not emergency but her tummy pain was really upsetting her. That's where they said was celiac and they took a blood test which I had to chase up 4 times only to eventually be told was never used as they no longer test for celiac disease there. Was all v confusing and upsetting as blood test so frightening for her I was furious when not even for a purpose!

, I'd ask for blood tests in that case as she may be anaemic and yes a blood test can be done for diagnosis but is not always conclusive.

Thanks. I'm just back and I think the gp (a different one) would have given her something for constipation but was happy to give me a referral to a paeditrician or gastroenterologist (not sure which) and said even if they don't find anything might just set my mind at rest. I feel relieved that at least we might end up clearer and thanks
