My son has just started on a lactose free diet (he's 4) because he is seriously congested all the time and has sleep apnoea (sp?).I have DC/DSC and am finding it very hard, why do so many foods have lactose? and why is soya so expensive? and he hates it!!

So, basically I feel your pain and am with you in hoping he grows out of it or this is not the cause. Although the other possibility is a dust allergy, which with 5 kids is going to even harder to avoid!!

So, no help to you other than some empathy!

My DD (2.4) also as lactose intolerance and its made harder by the fact she is soya intolerant too

TBH I was hoping she would have outgrown it by now but is showing no sign She ate part of a chocolate button on Sunday and the reaction has not been fun.

I am just hoping she has outgrown it before she starts school
