Benefits of goat's milk

My DD is nearly 3 and has rough skin on the backs of her arms. Nothing terrible but not ideal. She seems to like goat's milk yoghurt and I'm wondering if it is worth trying to change her over to goat from cow. She still drinks quite a lot of milk. She also is rather 'well built' so we don't have to worry about losing the calories from cow's milk either.

WWYD?

My daughter was getting rough skin on her cheeks and it disappeared when we switched to goats milk. We still use cow's milk yogurts, though.

ahh - that's good to know - any other changes?

There is not much point in changing to goats yoghurts unless she stops drinking cows milk.

We removed dairy from the diet of DS completely and it made a huge difference, however, there was no difference at all when we exchanged cows products for goat products. So, it depends on how sensitive she is. You don't loose anything for trying, though.

I thought that as she liked the yoghurt she would probably like the milk. It is better for you too I thought?

i take it you have tried a moisturiser? (5 x daily?)

and all other common stuff before getting to the stage of changing diet?

you could go to the lactose free milk first?

whats so magical about goat milk? still a mammal, still has similar structure....

have heard that camel milk works well for severe ezcema......

Bridewolf, I think the protein molecules in cows milk are slightly different to other types of milk (goats, sheep) which make it very difficult for us to digest.

So my GP was telling me tonight.

I get slight eczema on my face and arms - cut out all the cow milk products and then went to goats milk. It worked - now my DD also has it. I think its wonderful.
