Where do Coeliacs eat in Central London?

Can London Coeliacs recommend places to eat where they have been confident of getting GF food? I know the Stockpots used to be reliable, for example, but haven't eaten out in London for a while. Any ideas re chains would be very welcome.......

I go for Wagamamas or La Tasca as usual good bets. Most of Nandos is gf, and they have allergy listings available

Are there Carluccio's in London? They do a gluten free menu. Also I recently went to a lovely Italian restaurant in Covent Garden - think it was called Da Mario and they did gluten free alternatives for most of their pasta dishes - it was really nice. They didn't have many gluten free desserts disappointingly but they were very helpful and seemed knowledgeable about which things I would be safe to eat.

Thanks very much for the quick responses. I'm off the Allergy Show on Saturday and hoping to have a decent meal afterwards. Will check out your suggestions.

The Sofra chain were very helpful in being able to tell us exactly what was in what part of thier menu when I had a party of international guests with a wide variety of dietary needs (halal, vegan, various allergies...). I e mailed head office fom thier website and they were really helpful and were able to say what was ok for who...

They have v tasty food - Turkish, plus pasta, (not that pasta is a goer for you!), and are not expensive - they have good set menu deals, pre theatre etc. The website makes them look posh and expensive - my experience is that they are good quality and good value, and not expensive! The Covent garden branch is very handy, and St Christopher's Place for Oxford St.

(I was thinking Turkish as I think rice and chick peas are GF?)

Yes, Carluccios have been great when we have taken our boys (both Coeliac). They have many restaurants, a separate gluten free menu and have explained that it will take slightly longer to make sure everything is cleaned down to avoid cross contamination which was very reassuring. The Mermaids Tail in Leicester Square do gluten free fish and chips.
