Eczema patch looking like mosquito bites / allergic reaction?

Bit worried about DD this morning so hope someone can come along and reassure me. She's had mild eczema on her legs since 4 months old (now 1yo) and yesterday after taking her to the park I noticed she was scratching a lot, and when I looked she had come up in lots of weals all over her leg, where her eczema is, almost like several mosquito bites or like an allergic reaction. It calmed down after about 10 minutes and went back to just the usual red patches. I put it down to her having reacted to some grass pollen or something on the playground, but this morning when I put her in the buggy I noticed a couple of weals on her leg again and she hadn't been outside yet. She hasn't eaten anything unusual, I haven't changed our washing powder, so I have no clue what's going on. Could this just be an eczema flare-up and could the raised white bumps be caused by scratching? Or do I assume that she is reacting to something and do I need to give her Piriton?

Hope someone has an answer... thanks!

Schulte I'm no expert but I'd probably give her baby piriton and if it sorts it out then you know she has had an allergic reaction to something. Maybe it was still itchy from yesterday so she scratched it this morning and that's what made it flair up again?

If it doesn't sort it out then I'd take her to the doctor.

Poor little H

I agree with the Baby Piriton suggestion, and perhaps put her in cotton tights if you're putting her on the grass again?

My DS has the same thing, we have Epiderm and something else... I'll have a look.

The doc told us cool baths and light cotton long sleeves and trousers. No sunscreen.

Gonna watch this thread as was looking for advice about this too.

Hives? (urticarea I think is the proper name)

ds3 suffering at the moment. Piriton and Benadryl didn't work so he now has a prescription

Have you tried asking the pharmacist at Boots?

In the meantime try sudocrem - it is supposed to be good for itches
