Cream eggs OK for people with peanut allergies?

Hello all, I'm just enquiring whether anybody knows if cream eggs are suitable for children with peanut allergies, I can't see any indication that they're not on the box. It's for a French child and whilst he understands ingredients in French I doubt he'll understand them in English and I want to be assured that I'm not going to cause him harm.

On a second note, if your children suffer from peanut allergies or any allergy are they OK about missing out on treats. I've bought the chocolates to give the kids in my group a taste of English chocolate before Easter but I'd feel quite mean missing him out.

Thanks for your help.

my very sensitive peanut allergic child eats them. No warning on the box and very few other egss you can get. Kinenrton are safe too and most galaxy chocolate.

Allergic children going to another country should always know the words for peanut (any sensible parent would have taught him). But they may miss other nuts and they are often allergic to tree nuts too. Worth letting him see the box if you buy a box of creme eggs as he'll feel happier if he does know enough English to check.

Thank you so much, yes I have the box and I was going to show it to him as well because he's 11 so I'm sure he knows what to look out for better than I do.

Cream Eggs were the only 'proper' Easter Eggs our nut allergic child could eat at one stage so I would say you are good to go as long as there is no change in the list of ingredients.

DD hated missing out, its like being in a candy shop and not being able to eat anything. There are lots of 'safe' options so please be as inclusive as you can. Most galaxy is also OK btw as long as it is not from a selection box like Celebrations.

The French language has quite a few words for peanut as I understand it;

pistache de terre

arachide

cacahouette

cacaouette

the word I am most familiar with is arachide but you might want to ask him how he is familar and then explain our word is peanut or just 'nut'

Thanks for taking the time to do this, it will mean an awful lot to him and the family.

As the others have said, the cream eggs are OK.

My ds1 (4) has learnt to accept that he generally can't have the treats that the other children at school get(fi every child in preschool was given a mini Easter egg at the end of term but but he couldn't have his) but I wouldn't say he doesn't mind - he minds hugely but doesn't show it, we get the odd tear at home.

missed the bit about missing out. NO - allergic kids are definitely NOT OK with missing out and being different. They become resigned to it as they get older but younger children often cry over it. It is cruel and the people who can't be bothered to make the effort are heartless.

Well I took the cream eggs into school yesterday, I explained to the little boy that I thought it was OK and we read the ingredients on the packet together and he took his cream egg, scoffed it down really quickly with absolutely no side effects and bless him said thank you for finding him English chocolate he could eat.

So thanks everyone for your advice - I'd decided if he couldn't have any chocolate then I wasn't going to give any out so now there are 7 French children running around rejoicing in their first taste of Cadbury's chocolate.
