Soya Intolerance? -- Please advise....

DS (2) is cow milk protein intolerant. Quite severe, and he is under a gastro consultant.

So, this afternoon, he vomits like he did when he had dairy, and the only thing that could have produced such a reaction was soya flour.

Had anyone known such a strong soya intolerance?

My DD (2) is lactose intolerant and also soya intolerant which developed after the dairy iyswim.

The soya intolerance is actually worse than the dairy and she vomits etc with it too

The dairy intolerance is showing very small signs of improvement but no improvement yet in the soya

Thanks Simpson. Sorry about your DD, but that sounds just like DS . He had some bread that had soya flour in it this afternoon, and was projectile.

Am going to have to re think his diet. Fortunately, his dietician at Children's Hospital has prescribed Neocate Nutra which is a food thing and he likes it.

SDD was/is allergic to nuts (anaphylactic) but only allergic to eggs and soya. She grew out of egg allergy at 4 and soya at about 10. Now, just intolerance to cats and fluffy things, soya seems OK but she can become very uncomfortable and bloated if overdosed. Soya is in so much so please check labels.

DS used to vomit after eating soya, he outgrew it thankfully, but like BBF's DC gets a bit of a sore tummy if he eats too much of it.

Bread is very difficult to buy without soya flour in, M&s do a white loaf and Tesco do an oatmeal and wholegrain loaf in their The Best range that don't comtain soya. There's also no soya in those part baked baguettes.

yes - a friend's child developed soy intolerance after their milk intolerance. They outgrew it suddenly between 5 and 6. Saw him at Christmas and they were despairing he'd ever outgrow it and a few months later he was eating anything.

Yes we buy the white M&S loaf (Bakers white loaf) and my new discovery is Tescos own Angel layer cake is dairy/soya free so DD can now have cake

What is neocate nutra??

DD is still on the neocate for v young babies but likes it so her dietician is reluctant to change it iyswim

Thanks for advice on non soya breads and cake!

DS is on Neocate Advance, but also Neocate Nutra which is fairly new. It's a food supplement where you add 4 scoops or so, and get a thick consistency thing that I add to banana, and strawberries.
