What is this rash on my 7 month old?

Not having any luck in children's health so thought I would try here, though I'm not sure if it's an allergic thing.

It looks like tiny pinprick pimples, only very slightly raised (does fade under the glass test!) and it started on ds's upper back, spread to his front and bottom and now also a little on the sides of his face. It doesn't seem to bother him at all and he's very happy. Started a couple of days ago.

I haven't changed my washing powder recently but wondered about a buildup of Vanish powder or something... but in that case surely it wouldn't be on his face?

The only other thing I can think of is that he's had avocado on each of the last 3 days. But he has had avocado before and didn't react then.

I'm planning to take him to doc if it doesn't go in a few more days but wondered if anyone here could shed any light. Neither of my boys has ever had a rash before so I'm clueless.

Sounds a bit like heat rash - my son got it when I took him on long walks snuggled up in the buggy, so it doesnt have to be summer to get it..

DS has had something similar a couple of times. I took him to the docs who said it was a viral rash and quite common.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I've not been overdressing him but will keep an eye on that.

Also was thinking about viral rashes but assumed he would have a temperature if it was that - did your ds have a temp DomesticGoddess?

Post viral rash, could have been a very mild virus, mildly snotty perhaps. I questioned my GP as to why this dosen't happen to older children and adults and she said she didn't have a clue!

Ooh, he has been snotty, so maybe that's it. Thank you.

He's actually got a bit of a rash and a temperature today funnily enough, but the first time he had a rash and I took him to the doctors he didn't.
