Vommiting baby, environmental factors???

Ok so this sounds unlikely, but i'm trying to find an explanation...

DS is 4 months he is my 4th. He is sole bf. He has always been a very sicky baby. I am currently running for owner of most bibs, we now have over 95 after an emergency extra purchase of 20 at the weekend. DS is happy, otherwise healthy meeting milestones and even smiles contentedly whilst vomiting, ost days we get through between 30 - 50 bibs and about 6 changes of clothes. Having tried cutting out milk, coffee, tea, tomatoes, chocolate, curry, and oranges it makes no difference to his frequency or volume of vomit.

However, we just bought another house and I have been spending 3/4 days a week there decorating he has been with me constantly. When we are there his vommiting is markedly reduced. I am eating and drinking the same, so is it possible that there is an environmental factor that is causing him to vomit??

Any ideas / hypothesis greatly appreciated.

TIA

Maybe he's just overeating at home because it's more boring than the new house? I suggest that if you went to more baby groups he'd also end up feeding a bit less, or spacing feeds out, and that too might reduce the problem. Worth an experiment.

LOL! We do toddler groups on mon, tue, wed and sometimes on a Thursday, 3 school runs a day so normal day is segmented into 2.5 hr sections iykwim? At home he is normally surrounded by toddlers - at the house he has a couple of toys and a bouncy chair. He generally feeds for about 20 mins at a time at home and at the new house has a spacing between feeds during the day of about 3-4 hrs and sleeps at night from about 8.30pm till 5am I have been assuming his vomming is a dodgy valve at the top of his stomach.

I'm not actually sure how you would go about spacing out feeds in a responsive fed b/f baby or how good an idea that would be considering the amount he vommits what with the dehydration risk and all, but I think I can see where you are coming from...

Thanks anyway

I just kind of wondered if there was a known household allergen that could cause vommiting... anyone???

seems more likely that while in the new house the bouncy chair keeps him more upright, which is good for babies with reflux.

It's possible that in a new house there is less dust mite allergen but the paint fumes would be allergenic.

Hi Tatt I was wondering about the dust mite allergen, at home he's in a swing, The problem i think is that thereare so many similarities its hard to spot the diference...
