Ener-G products are also egg, dairy, wheat, gluten free. www.ener-g.com - this is the range we tend to use. You won't find them on the shelves, usually, but they can be ordered through the Pharmacy - very expensive though - much cheaper to make your own.

Basic cookies/biscuits

Preheat oven to 170c

225g Pure Dairy free spread
110g caster sugar
275g plain flour (we use Dove Farm wheat and gluten free find it in tesco asda sainsburys in the free from aisles)

Put Pure into food processor until soft.

Add sugar and blend.

Add flour gradually. You may need a touch more flour.

At this point we add raisins or choc chips if you can find suitable ones but you can experiment with other additions.Dds like them with 100s and 1000s on..

Next roll the mixture into walnut shaped balls and place on a baking tray. No need to grease or line.

Back for 13-15 mins.

VERY easy and taste nice. You could make them more 'grown up' by dipping into (the right kind of) plain choc then leaving to cool or putting some orange or lemon zest into the mixture.
Using a damp fork flatten each one slightly

Thanks girls They look easy. I might make some Christmas shaped ones and ice them...

girlsyearapart · 31/10/2009 08:52

Very easy indeed! though tried making shapes with cutters and the recipe was a bit too sticky so only a couple turned out.

Did have rather alot of 'help' from my 2yr old though..
