What sort of tests?

DS's RASTs were ready 2 weeks afterwards
ELISAs took about 10 days.

But I think they can take more if the people who process them (lab or office staff) are very busy.

RAST test i presume

6 weeks is allowing for the time taken for the results to be done, sent to the consultant and then for them to read them and dictate a letter and for said letter to be typed and sent out to you.

I would ring after a fortnight, build a rapport with the secretary, say you know how busy they are and you would be very grateful just for the 'headlines' as it were. They will want to help I'm sure.

Yep 2nd that haven't had official RAST follow up apt (tomorrow) tests were 8 weeks ago but spoke to dietician over phone about 4 weeks after and got 'headlines'. Worth a try.

her follow up appointment is in jan, but the consultant said she will call us and go over the results with us.

Good luck with it misdee. It is a long long wait when so much hinges on the results. Will be looking out for news.

Yeah ok thanks! I can have tea with milk and I am having some processed food with milk in now. She is ok, although the poo goes mucousy if I have too much, nice eh? Weaning has started so going very very sloooooowly. Going to be dairy free and probably gluten for ages yet. Won't risk those colic screams again! Shudder at thought in fact.
