Does allergic contact eczema just go when they are not in contact with the allergen?

That's it really,
ds (4) has allergic contact eczema from head to toe at the moment (1st time) and it seems to have gone from the middle to his toes and his head will it just go or is this here to stay?
Any advice welcome.

Had a look at pompholyx- they spots are not as large and they are not on his hands or feet -everywhere else but.

erm , I quite like bb though, foxers

foxinsocks · 19/06/2009 22:48

it sounds very nasty

I would still go back to the docs tbh, maybe finish the course of antibs first

It does sound connected to his run of poor health doesn't it, and the spots do sound v chickenpox like (which I take that he's had)

foxinsocks · 19/06/2009 22:50

lol pointy

well in that case enjoy

nobodysfool · 19/06/2009 22:52

He has never had chicken pox but both doctors are saying def not. They dont have that fluid bit in the spots.

That doesn't sound like eczema to me. (But I'm not an expert.)

Ds1 had another inexplicable bumpy rash on his buttocks at one point. I was told post-viral rash (not convinced, I get post-viral rashes and this looked, felt and behaved nothing like what I get, plus he hadn't been ill) and shingles (also not convinced as he had no pain). Acyclovir cream had no effect. After a couple of months I mentioned it to my health visitor, and she suggested I try Savlon antiseptic cream. The rash cleared up within days. (My then HV rocks - she is the queen, the goddess of HVs, and I miss her.)
