Rash around nose and mouth- could it be a delayed nut allergy or teething?

Hi there
Wonder if anyone can help me- my ds (12months) had a small taste of peanut butter yesterday at 3pm. No reaction noted at all.
But this morning (10am) after a nap, he woke up with irritable skin/bumpy and red around his mouth and skin.
Now he is drooling ALOT lately- teething i think. and generally always has a snotty nose. So hoping its just from that

So could it be a delayed allergy/reaction to the peanutbutter of 19 hours ?
or could it be something else insignificant like teething?

Many thanks

Not likely to be peanut allergy if its appeared so long after digesting it.
It sounds like he is probably getting his back teeth and its the constant drooling that causes the rash around the chin. Try putting vaseline on his dried chin to prevent chapping.
I would give it again to him once the rash has gone and see if the same thing happens. HTH.

Usually the reaction occurs immediately or very soon after. Certainly not 19hrs after
If it helps my dd1 is allergic to an ingredient in mayonnaise and always got a rash around her mouth the minute she ate it. I never stopped her eating it because its just a rash, she has now outgrown it at 3yo (or gets less on her face lol!)
What I am trying to say is that even if there is a minor reaction it isn't necessarily dangerous iyswim. Usually if some one is severely allergic to something it will mean an anaphylactic reaction with the first exposure, not a slight reaction that gets worse iyswim.
