I have used simple and found it to be quite good, another one was Roc I think its called and it worked well with my skin too

dizzydixies · 15/04/2009 09:30

this one and simple on here I think I got them both in Boots

hope this helps

Another good one is Bergaderm, a mousse suncream. You can get it in Waitrose and Sainsburys and (I think) Boots, but I'm not 100% sure. It's also one that lasts for 6 hours so you are not constantly reapplying it. Last time I bought it it was about £15.

Thanks both, I will check them out

I have a similar problem with my DD and have sepnt a small fortune on various suncreams but haven't found one yet that doesn't aggravate things. I spoke to someone at the baby clinic today who suggested asking the pharmacist. Pharmacist said go see GP as there are prescribable creams and as she is under 16 we will get it free. For yourself and your DH though, the prescription charge will be cheaper than off the shelf prices probably. My HV said that she would also contact the skin clinic at the local hospital and ask for a recommendation for me, so when she gets back to me I'll let you know

sunsense ultra. Available at boots but is behind the counter for some reason.

Hi my DS also suffers really badly with eczema. I have spoken to the dermatology unit at the hospital today as I also need suncream ASAP and they have recommended Sunsense. I have not tried it yet but am about to give it a go. I have just googled it and it is recommedned very very sensitive skin.

Good luck

I have 3 mindees with eczema, and most of the time I have them out playing in UV playsuits, so that they don need to much cream.

Green People available in some health food shops on the high street - they are excellent creams

iris66 · 23/04/2009 07:52

Just in case you react to those (my DS reacted to everything ) ZO-1 is a zinc based sunscreen that is absolutely brilliant(but only available over the internet I think). It's like the coloured stuff they use for skiing but invisible and hasn't got any of the nasties that many other screens have. Good luck

tegan · 23/04/2009 08:08

dd1 has severe eczema and i use avon kids sun cream, a purple one in factor 50 which is excellent

vaz · 03/05/2009 01:49

I use sunsense toddler milk factor 50. My daughter and I both have eczema and it is great. Have found it in John Lewis and a random chemist shop in my home town!

Liz earle also does a factor 25 which is good but that would have to bought online or via mail order unless you have a John Lewis near you with a Liz Earle concession

good luck!

Try Invisible Zinc, now available at Selfridges, Oxford Street and on various reputable online stores.

Check out www.invisiblezinc.com for UK online stockists.

It doesn't contain parabens, chemical filters, titanium dioxide etc which can be skin irritants. The only active ingredient is the zinc oxide which as well as deflecting UVA and UVB rays and pollution, works as a natural astringent to help reduce skin bacteria.

IZ have a great moisturizer called the Environmental Skin Protecter (ESP) and a Tinted Daywear also, both with 30 SPF so perfect for daily wear. I use both. They are fantastic! There are also sunscreens by the same brand. Good luck.
