Eczema weeping confusion

Hi - I was wondering if anyone could clear a query I had up - DS, 4 months has eczema, mostly around cheeks, wrists and around the neck. It can get very red and sore. DS tries to scratch but we put mits on. Doctor has given white paraffin, this seems to take the dryness away but we have noticed that a clear watery substance seems to form where we apply it, it almost looks like condensation.

Is this weeping as it is mentioned often on the forum? We also noticed that the areas we apply the paraffin goes red and inflamed from the initial dry skin phase, is this common? Is he having a bad reaction. We also use a liquid that we put in his bath water, milky white, can't remember the name and aqueous soap - all been given by doctor.

thanks in advance for any advice/info

Yes, that's weeping. I can't help with the rest as my DS1 had excema as an infant and he's now 22yo, so my memories are too hazy, but we used the milky bath stuff too. (It's great for non-excema skin too. [shamefaced ) Don't think we used white paraffin, though.

yes it could be a reaction, having read lots of threads on here re: eczema (as my ds2 7months has it), people with eczema quite often react to the creams that doctors first prescribe( Liquid parrafin, Oilatum, aqueous cream etc)
Having said that it is a bit of trial and error to see which cream works best. Aveeno is raved about on here and i have to say that it's worked brilliantly for us, ds2's skin is soo much better having used it for the last few weeks( was using oilatum before). I would definatly recomend it. you can get it on prescription and there is also bath stuff. Alternatively you could just fill an odd sock with porride oats and pop it in the bath( tied so the oats don't come out!)
Our ds2 has it mainly around the neck (used to be all over head aswell) and it can get quite itchy so also used magicool itch relief spray which helped.

Like Jocie recommended Aveeno cream! Only thing that works on my ds (20mnths), I have very dry, sensitive skin and now use it as my daily face cream too.
