DD with persistent cough... could it be her milk?

HI all,

This is long shot, but I'm trying to figure out if DDs rattly chesty cough is just the lingering remnants of a cold or whether it might be an allergy of some kind.

It's been going on 3 months now, (nearly), and am getting no help/insight whatsoever from the GP - who just says her chest is clear... (which is why she sound like a rattly old train then...??) .

But since her other cold symptoms seem to have gone, I don't think it's that any more,

The only thing to have changed in her life (other than going to nursery) is we've moved her onto Aptamil toddler milk. She was previously on Aptamil 1 from the age of about 6 months. BF before that.

She couldn't be having some kind of allergic reaction to that which is causing the cough could she?

It seems unlikely, but I just can't think of anything else which might be a trigger, so I was wondering if anyone here could shed any light??

Ta in advance of your great wisdom...

She could have developed asthma. Milk can therefore make it worse.

w.

Try to get her back to Aptamil 1 for a couple of weeks, if the coughs disapears, then introduce again he toddler version, if the cough is back then it may be the toddler version.

However, I doubt is the milk (although I agree that milk can make asthma worse in children who have an allergy/intolerance to it, but it could be many other things from bedmites to the remains of a cold).
