As per title really.

She has mild excema but it's basically dryinsh skin all over her tummy with one stubborn patch on the back of her knee that we have to apply steroid cream to twice a day. That patch won't clear at all even though GP gave her a course of antibiotics over half term as it looked infected.

She has been reallytired, wingey & sniffly for the last two weeks and it's just occured to me that it could be hayfever rather than a cold. It is the season for it? No one in the family has excema or hayfever so have no idea about the condition really.

TIA

Hi, yes you can get hayfever this time of year - March to May there's tree pollen around, then May to July for grasses and flowers. Eczema and hayfever do often go together. Can she tell you if the inside of her nose feels itchy? That's something I notice when I've got hayfever rather than a sniffle, not sure if everyone feels a difference though.

Ds (4) very bad eczema on his face and fingers which wasn't shifting (even with steriod cream). GP has prescribed antihistamine medicine which ds usually takes throughout summer and early autumn. Seems to be about a month earlier than usual iirc.

you could get some free allergy testing done at the hospital ask for a referral from gp to allergy clinic. or you could give one drop of grape fruit seed extraxct [from health food store about £5.00] once a day in milk or similar and it will go straight away, or you could see a nutritionalist n.a.e.t. they have them in neals yard and some other therapy centes.... www.naet. uk.org. they help you remove allergies and give lovely accupressure down your back [like massage]or remove offending food you know gives the allergy
which is usually wheat, dairy, shell fish, corn soya, and elimination diet for two weeks will show if this food is the ofending allergy, one food elimination at a time... good luck
