Ds milk intolerant. We assume it's the protein that causes the problem as it was with dd. I'm bf so am dairy free, as he reacts to even the tiniest amount in my diet.

Have just eaten lactose by mistake (cooked with stout, and turns out that stout contains lactose ).

I have always avoided all forms of milk. I assume that lactose does need to be avoided even if it's the protein that causes the problem, but can anyone confirm this?

Will be in for a rough day tomorrow I think.

I don't do expressing and ds has never had a bottle. And it stays there for too long so not really feasible, esp when he feeds every couple of hours day and night.

But thanks anyway.

get colief from a pharmacy or supermarket. Helps to deal with accidental exposure to lactose as it contains lactase to digest it.

But he gets lactose in every feed anyway, as lactose is just milk sugar, so can't be avoided in a bf baby. This is why I'm not sure whether it's a problem for me to consume or not.

No problems so far, but obv don't know if it would have reached him yet or not.
