I'm taking DS1 (5) to London for a few days and was wondering if anyone can advise on supermarket products so I can get my cousin to stock up on food...

What I really need is a brand of bread without any dairy in, and some kind of good-quality ham with no dairy in. Also, is soy yoghurt readily available, and does it come in small pots and chocolate flavour?! Any brands to look out for?

agree with kerry, you will have no problems. We use morrisons, Tesco and ASDA, all are excellent and have a 'free-from' section. Also bear in mind that Aldi has lots of stuff which is 'unintentionally'(as it were) DF.
We use Alpro yogurt, you can get chocolate and various other desserts, also milkshake in ready-to-drink cartons; i think Tesco have the most extensive range of this stuff but it may vary from one area to another.
Relax - honestly you are likely to find it easy as long as you don't mind reading some labels.

Alpro products link for you

The thing is that I won't have time to go to the supermarket myself, so my cousin was going to stock up - it'd be much easier for her if I can just give her the brand names rather than her having to spend ages looking at all the labels...

Thanks for the Alpro link.

Hovis bread is dairy free, and anything with the Alpro brand name is dairy free - they do chilled soya yoghurts and also long-life puddings which you tend to find where the jelly/custard mixes are. Most of the better ham is dairy free, I find it's usually the cut-price stuff that puts it in for flavour! I only buy Waitrose own-brand though so I can't give you any recommendations, except avoid Bernard Matthews (well you would anyway wouldn't you!)

tell her to go to Sainsburys. She can get their own brand Jaffa Cakes - which have dark chocolate and orange jelly on a sponge biscuit base. Your child will love them. Several types of biscuits are dairy free - including Sainsburys own bourbon biscuits.

Their own bread is mostly dairy free - do you want white or wholemeal? The British Cooked Ham, Oval Slices 140g own brand and the wafer thin honey roast ham (and probably others ) are dairy free.

If he misses chocolate after eights are dairy free chocolates.

If she wants to order online you can check ingredients of most items on their website
