Support group for babies with eczema

My little boy who is now 5 months has suffered from severe eczema since 8 weeks. We have been in and out of hospital, and are currently seeing dermatologist weekly. My life has been turned upside down by this, natural anyway with having a baby, but to be worried continually when your baby is unwell, is another story! Everday seems to be a perpetual cycle of creams and sometimes i just wish i had friends with babies who had eczema so they could understand.

Does anyone know of any support groups of mums? I live in north london, crouch end...maybe there are any mums out there who might want to meet up?xx

Hi Zeered

My son is now 2 and a half he was born covered in eczema, we fought for the first 4 months for them to accept what I had been telling them all along. That he had eczema which looked exactly ike mine.

As a result I had to pick out my own creams and put up with doctor after doctor telling me that it was perfectly normal and was 'Malia' rather than an aggressive eczema prescribing me steroid creams when his face and body got infected from the scratching , it was pretty tough at the time but it does get better.

Now he's older he seems to have grown out of it a bit and it only really breaks out under certain circumstances so no citrus or acidy fruits, cold weather is quite bad and washing products soaps everything is out the window too.

I am in the Hghlands and don't know of any local groups but I am here if you want to talk.

My email addy is sr86 @ hotmail . co . uk

Anytime you need to talk just mail me

My son had eczema so badly he had 1st degree burns. It was so bad he spent the next 3 days peeling. After experimenting with various creams I discovered the only cream that worked on his sensitive skin is Melaleuca Renew Lotion which is made with Tea Tree Oil.
I was so impressed with how well it worked on my son's skin (and mine) that I joined the company so I could use their many other health and wellness products too. Plus they deliver to your door anywhere in Britain.
If you would like to join Melaleuca so you can use their Renew Lotion as well as the many other quality products they are famous for please email me at [email protected]

For more information on the Renew Lotion visit:www.melaleuca.com/wc/PLong.cfm?cnt=2400&pi=3600&t=0

Hi there,

I am new to the site and have a 16 month old son who has had persistant eczema since 3 months old. He also has a number of allergies. I have posted on here about setting up a group to meet with children in similar circumstances. There is no local support group for eczema or allergies that I have found. I live in Barnet in North London, so if you are interested in meeting up, the drop me a line and perhaps we can arrange something and get some others along to.

Hey I don't live near you but I just thought I'd post to say your not alone. My son had eczema from a young age and still gets outbreaks of it now(hes 2.6). He didn't have to go to hospital for it or anything but I know what it's like putting on the constant cream everyday. He scratches it all the time!

Hi, I have started a new group which is for parents dealing with allergies, Reflux, colic and skin problems such as eczema.

I read your post and think it may be of interest to you to have a look and hopefully join. It is a new site and open to make better so any input you have on the site will help others too. We have a few memtor members who are ready to help you settle in and welcome you and have files and links to intresting topics and items.

It has a files page for recent studies and a links page for items such as eczema swimming costumes and clothing as well as help from other parents for support and advice on what works for them and what doent. It IS VERY HARD DEALING WITH THESE ISSUES THAT NOT ALL PARENTS FACE THIS IS WHY i HAVE SET THIS SITE UP TO HELP THOSE OF US WHO NEED A LITTLE EXTRA SUPPORT. Its a place where we can all upload great things we have tried and the more people we encourage to use the site the better it will become.

I hope this is of some use to you please use this link and to join click on the purple button and I will aprove you membership when I get it through.

Hope to speak soon Michelle
