Skin sensitive washing powder recommendations?

DD is 3 and has eczema - albeit much less badly than when she was a baby. However, I want to change washing powder as her skin seems sensitive. We currently use Persil Non-Bio - has anyone got any recommendations for a natural product? Ideally available in regular supermarkets?

TIA

We don;t use a natural product but Waitrose Sensitive Non Bio for our washing - DS has excema and DD asthma and it is fab - DSs skin is a lot better afetr changing to this from Fairy Non-Bio.

Have you tried Aveeno cream for the excema or Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream - we used it for Molloscum Contagiuos and it also cleared up DSs excema!

Ecover non bio is a good washing powder for eczema I've found (suffer with it myself),i have used the bio formula and it didn't effect my skin either.Filetti is equally as good, although I'm unsure of how 'natural' it is.

Thank you Madame [bows]

Waitrose is rather out of the way but I do go there occasionally (love it). Haven't tried Aveeno, we've got Epaderm prescribed plus all the steroid etc, keeps it under control but TBH (TMI alert) she always seems to have sensitive skin on her bottom. I think mostly this is because she doesn't wipe properly and she's constantly fiddling down there too - I'm always on at her.

we have always used surcare sensitive liquid and found it ideal for dd's sensitive skin

DS (age 9) has always been sensitive to washing powders - especially if I have to change the brand for any reason. He reacted to Fairy non-bio and Persil non-bio.

We use Surcare liquid which seems to be widely available &, touch wood, has been fine so far, though I live in dread of it being discontinued and having to look for a replacement!

EldonAve · 13/01/2009 11:25

we use surcare

I used to use Ecover but eventually had enough of the the 'eco stench'! I found that laundered clothes began to smell nasty after a week or so in the cupboard.

I now use Neutral, but I'm not sure if it's easily available in the UK.

Thanks all, will see what's available locally

Ecover with a couple of drops lavender oil works great!

See my previous post for bathtime eczema tip too if you have time!

Another vote for Ecover. Thanks MamaTama, will try the lavender drops as it smells of nothing really

Yet another vote for Ecover but back home in NZ I use ecostore, next generation or B.E.E. but I don't know if any of those are available in England but they all smell nicer than ecover. Lavender oil is a good idea I wish I'd thought of that when I was living in England using ecover. Washing balls and soap nuts are another thought, never trusted them for ds's nappies though.
