So gutted. Was just thinking how great it was that he could eat them now that he passed the tomato challenge only for his lips to swell and for him to throw up.

He's allergic to lentils, soy and chickpeas so I suppose it was likely. I'm just praying he doesn't develop a peanut or pea allergy .

We found out DS1 (6yrs) was allergic to beans 18 months ago, it just suddenly developed, he'd been fine with them before that. In both RAST and skin prick tests he tested positive for peanut allergy but last May he had a peanut challenge and had no reaction at all, the consultant thinks he was getting a false positive because of the bean allergy. I have to admit though I still don't give him peanuts, I just don't check everything to see if nuts are in the ingredients anymore.
DS hasn't had lentils (as far as we know) so we have been told not to give them to him until he can be tested, but he is not allergic to peas, he just doesn't like them, lol.

Sorry to hear this Trixymalixy. My DD is ok with any beans she's tried but is allergic to lentil, chickpeas, peas and peanut so legumes are a worry for us. I did wonder about the beans myself also but no sign of any allergy as yet thankfully.

It's laziness in a way as beans make such an easy dinner, bu it's also the fact that he's still developing allergies.

I was hoping he would be starting to outgrow them by now .
