Portsmouth - help for French family?

On another forum a French mother asked for help finding a host family in Portsmouth for a 12 year old child when their school has an exchange trip. Anyone who might be able to help/ suggest contacts in Plymouth?

bumping for you

Surely you'd want to know something about the family?
Or am I paranoid that you'd send a 12 year old to strangers and not through some sort of validated exchange scheme?

I remember some type of exchange trip but it was all organised through school & of course, the parents.

i have young students throughout the summer months any age ranging from 11 to 18,this is all done by a local language school and our home is looked over and we have to agree to having a police check. They need to know certain things as well such as ,do we have animals ,are we prepared to have vegtarians,or any student with an allergy etc.All these things have to be sorted before the student arrives in our home.I have been having them for several years and apart from a few minor hiccups ,it has all been fine.

yes you'd want to know something about the family, but that could be checked out through the college arranging the exchange. Ideally the mother was looking for a family who are dealing with food allergies already.

it would be preferable if the family were vegetarian themselves as it makes it easier but this isnt always the case , i did panic a bit when i had letters sent through with different allergies ,one of them was allergic to nuts the papers said ,but i checked with the group leader how serious it was and it turned out he could eat everything but not whole nuts,They said sometimes the parents go a bit overboard. The only thing he didn want to eat was tomatoes, not because he was allergic to them as his papers said ,he simply didnt like them !!!
