have you tried dietaryneedsdirect? they do all sorts of different chocolate shapes...

trixymalixy · 10/11/2008 17:42

I bough some for DS from dietary needs direct. It was a total rip off though. £4.95 for a teeny bag of coins.

I'm considering buying one of those chocolate coin makers and selling dairy free chocolate coins on ebay!!!

thisisyesterday · 10/11/2008 17:47

no idea but I bet you could make your own easily enough. there are places that sell chocolate moulds, just look for them and make them with nice G&B dark choc! yum

Wisp · 10/11/2008 18:03

www.dietaryneedsdirect.co.uk/cnb/shop/dietaryneeds-direct here some are

Wisp · 10/11/2008 18:03

are some

PrettyCandles · 10/11/2008 22:01

Thanks, but ouch! That is very expensive. They don't tell you how much cocoa solids, either. I want the good stuff.

I think you can get chocolate coin making machines at Toys R Us, so I may well invest in one of those and some nice Lindt 70%.

I'll buy 'em!!

oldraver · 11/11/2008 23:06

Thorntons DID used to do dark choccie ones which were dairy free (in the red cover) but as yet they havn't got them in this year and have told me they hav't been told they will..grrrr

I did get some good quality proper chocccie (and dairy free) large buttons from our health food shop, think they were Montezuma ones

gigglewitch · 21/11/2008 00:19

debbie i think i lurve you

alphadaydreamer · 21/11/2008 00:38

Check with the vegan society they will give you a list of suppliers.

milla2 · 22/11/2008 19:02

I have also tried a couple of Thorntons shop in our area and they told me they weren't doing them this year ... I agree it is so frustrating. They are not selling them on the website either only milk chocolate ones. I am thinking of making my own and found a website

www.homechocolatefactory.com/

which sells a mould for coins. Or may be i will just hang a huge bar of chocolate on the Christmas tree!!

trixymalixy · 23/11/2008 11:33

Debbie,

I've had a look at your ebay listings. I think you need to be a bit more specific as to what you would get in the hampers. Plus a list of ingredients as a lot of dairy alergic children would not be able to have nuts or soya for example.

PrettyCandles · 10/12/2008 13:15

I found some! In a kosher shop.

Of course I had to buy a packet and eat it myself first, just to check that they were tasty enough.

trixymalixy · 10/12/2008 22:26

Ooh, how much were they?

PrettyCandles · 14/12/2008 22:09

Not even an outrageous amount: 50p, IIRC, for 5 coins of various sizes. But they were not the "Elite" brand - that one tastes nasty IMO.
