DD 2 had endoscopy yesterday. all looks normal, no ulcers or sore bits that would explain her feeling sick/tummy aches etc.
they've taken some biopsies, to test for coeliac and 'other things' (what other things i don't know, was too flustered to ask)
so now we have to wait for results and i am torn between wanting everything to be normal - but then why her symptoms. and something to show up - but then i could say to granny 'ha ha, told you so' but have to avoid certain foods forever, but also might be healthier and happier.

so how should i feel?
and can you have entirely normal endoscopy but biopsies show something?
an if it is all normal what next?

not sure if this answers question but I had a normal endoscopy and nothing else showed up on the tests they did with the samples they took (is this the same as biopsies?)
With me they were looking for coeliac and didn't find it BUT you can still be wheat intolerant and not be coeliac I think. Hope your DD is ok? I felt a bit funny for a few days after mine - v. sore throat etc

You can have an entirely normal endoscopy but the biopsies show that a child is coeliac - they have to look at the villi under a microscope to look for the damage.

If the biopsy is normal (but she has had a positive coeliac blood test) she could be in the very early stages of coeliac disease where the villi are still not affected. Either the consultant will decide to "treat as coeliac" if your daughter is obviously being made ill on gluten to see if there is an improvement, or they will suggest retesting in six months or so to see if villi damage is present then. It really depends on how ill your DD is, what age she is, and the preferred course of action by the individual consultant.
