I think that DS1, like me, has perennial allergic rhinitus.
He wakes up each morning mouth breathing, then sneezes a few times and it eases.
I don't see much mouth breathing but sometimes when I ask him to smell something, he says "I can't smell things". This happens even when he doesn't have a cold.
Going outside doesn't make it any worse so I think it's dust more than pollen.
Should I obtain treatments? I saw some adverts in a catalogue long ago for drug-free treatments but can't remember what they were. I'm a bit scared of starting him on whatever the kiddie version of beconase/flixonase is because I was told by an ENT specialist that over the very long term those drugs thin the skin inside your nose (presumably making you more susceptible to infection...)
