Recommendations for a child’s eczema cream

My 3 year old has had eczema since she was about 6 weeks old. A cream I bought when she was a baby was a God-send, it literally cleared it up completely and it wasn't medicated, just plant based. It was a lotion called Baby Kingdom. Sadly, it was discontinued a while ago and the company don't seem to be in business anymore. I haven't found another cream since that helps. She has a 1% corticosteroid cream which I use only to manage flare ups but that doesn't seem to be working anymore - i suspect she needs a stronger one but I really don't want to do that. I've never had eczema and its not in the family, her elder sister has never had it so I am all new to this and learning as I go along. I wonder if it's because when she was born she was born in her amniotic sac which was amazing and rare, but it meant she didn't get my vaginal canal microbiome, and she was also given precautionary antibiotics when she was 1 day old. I know it could also be linked to diet but it's difficult to know what to cut out. I just wondered if anyone knows of a really good cream or lotion they have found for their child's eczema? She is struggling with few very itchy patches at the moment that I don't seem to be able to get rid of with any cream I try.

Following with interest.

My 2 year old has eczema - i had it as a child and grew out of it around age 7. I use non-bio laundry with an extra rinse, and dont use any soap or similar in his bath, we just wash his hair in the shower once a week. I dont use nail varnish as that can also be an irritant.

What barrier cream are you using? We were prescribed epimax lotion + a steroid ointment to apply 15 mins later for flare-ups but I also don't like using them.

We were also prescribed epimax oitment as an emollient but I have also been using pure shea butter instead on the top.

I'm thinking I need some eczema-friendly sun cream as well.

Hiya, no barrier cream seems to help. The GP prescribed Epaderm but that's been no good. I've recently starting trying Cetraben and Childsfarm but seeing no improvement. The only thing that ever helped was baby kingdom, so upsetting that it's no longer available.

Aveeno is pretty magic and oats in a tied sock in the bath is incredibly soothing.

Thank you - sadly oat based doesn't seem to do it for us! Aveeno has never helped :(

Oh that's a shame, CeraVe?

Have you tried the MooGoo range of moisturisers? I've tried Childsfarm as well but had better results with MooGoo and calendula oil. I hope you find something that works.
