Aptamil Pepti 1

Our son is 13 weeks amd since about 3 weeks has had mucusy poo and bad silent reflux. I tried dairy free diet when breastfeeding and it made no difference so switched to exclusively formula feeding aptamil pepti 1. He's been on it over 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to have made any difference. He's on omeprazole which is helping the acid but when he missed a dose it was right back to normal so the formula isn't helping the underlying issue. I know 2 weeks isn't that long but surely we would see some difference by now? He's been dairy free for almost 8 weeks.

Im not even convinced he has CMPA but as the formula has stopped the mucus does that confirm it?

It’ll be a Milk protein allergy if he’s still reacting to breastmilk. IGE or non ige they are both as severe and need to be complete milk protein free. Reflux is separate to the milk protein allergy so needs treating separately. Domperidone and losec/omeprazole need taking together for this. It takes longer than 2 weeks for everything to settle down. It’s not a miracle thing - meds will help control it but not stop ot completely until they are older and stomach is more developed unfortunately.
are you giving the tablets dissolved or the liquid? The liquid has stuff in which will
Aggravate the reflux but if you put the tablets in a neurofen liquid syringe and suck up water and leave to dissolve for a few mins gently moving around then put to back of throat to baby to get them to swallow it they get used to it. No nasty side effects from the liquid additives
