Intolerance help, cows milk, wheat, gluten, buckwheat...

Hi,

I have suffered for months with my tummy. Went to GP who did blood tests and stool sample, all came back clear.
My friend recommended a clinic who does intolerance tests and helped her massively so I paid to have one last week.

I had blood sample IgG and my levels were
Buckwheat 100 (which is really high)
Cows milk 57 (again high)
wheat 16
gluten 13.

I am confused as to what buckwheat is and what I have eaten it in.

Also would love some advice on any of this please? I am going to call the clinic tomorrow for a follow up.

I also need some lunch ideas please

Brown rice is brilliant, so gentle on you and healthy. I chop up peppers, celery, spring onion etc and mix it into cooled brown rice with prawns and vinaigrette dressing as an idea

When you call, get them to clarify what in cow's milk you affects you. There are plenty of lactose free products, so you might be able to have these. Buckwheat is a type of wheat, but your gluten scores are fairly low, so I am sure it us easy ti avoid one kind of wheat. I would talk all this through with your GP. I would also ask specifically to be tested for celiac and crohn's disease. Good luck

Thank you. I have been tested for celiac and it was clear.
I am confused as I have scored the highest for buckwheat but boarderline for wheat and gluten

Wheat is a pain to avoid, as it is in EVERYTHING! Due to that and other intolerances (including cows' milk and chicken eggs), I eat mainly just meat, fish, fruits and veg, with bits like rice and lentils thrown in here and there. It sounds very unexciting, but at least it's healthy!

You can buy rice flour and the likes from Shipton Mill, but I can't say that I've ever tried it.

I spoke to the clinic about my results, she said I do not need to cut out gluten and wheat at the moment as its a borderline score.
I do think this doesn't help my tummy, also eggs make me feel rubbish but I am a higher normal range.

Buckwheat is not a type of wheat. It's a seed.

PP was confusing buckwheat with bulgur wheat. Buckwheat is a seed so you can be intolerant to that but not wheat. Bulgur wheat is a type of wheat, though.

And the more I type wheat the odder it looks.

Sadly, your friend has helped you to waste your money. Intolerance tests are junk science so they really cannot tell you what you're intolerant to. The only way to work it out is through exclusion and reintroduction.
