Could this be CMPA?

Don't really know much about CMPA..
Baby girl has been on SMA formula from 0-1 years old and has always had difficulty being able to bring up a burp, often resulting in screaming and wriggling in pain. We naively thought this was just her digestive system not being fully formed yet and would just give her Infacol which would help almost immediately. Now she's 1 and has been on cow's milk for a few weeks now, but about 1-2 weeks ago started to develop hives/eczema all over her body that isn't really improving despite creams/antihistamines. Could this all along actually have been CMPA or some sort of intolerance to dairy? She loves yoghurt & cheese and I don't want to cut it out unless I have to obviously, it seems to be the eczema has worsened since on cows milk as she has been having cheese and yoghurt since 6 months

It could very well be non-Ige CMPA. The proteins in the formula could be more broken down, a bit like those in Sterilised or UHT milk making them easier to digest.

There is no test for non-Ige CMPA though usually. You could try cutting out dairy for two weeks to see if her eczema improves.

I would try giving her a calcium and vitamin D supplement though.

This article from Allergy UK might be useful too Flowers

Cow’s Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system in which proteins in a food are recognised as a potential threat.
