Excema on eyes

Hi all
just seeing if anyone has any recommendations on how to improve the excema around my eyes. I’ve basically got 2 red rings around my eyes and i’m so self conscious and my makeup looks a bugger as well when i put it on. I’ve also got criss cross lines underneath my eyes which the gp has told me is because the excema has been so severe its damaged the skin. I’ll post some pics. Even willing to try cosmetic treatments at this stage.

i’ve tried loads of lotions and potions, had 2 dermatologist appointments they’ve both pushed steroid cream on me which i’ve used before and doesn’t help, infact makes it worse. The dermatologist said i’ve used the strongest ones (eumovate and dermavate) so the only other thing they can do is refer me to hospital for either tablets or light therapy. Just waiting on an appointment now.

thanks in advance

Do you take antihistamines?
I get eczema around my eyes too (not as bad as you!) from aerosols and I found that E45 cream (which you'll definitely have tried) helped a bit but antihistamines and avoiding aerosols helped loads

Hi there. I had this, around both eyes. I feel for you!

At times it would be so bad my skin would be weeping and crusted with yellow gunk, the skin was so damaged. I was also prescribed everything from 1% hydrocortisone up to Eumovate and Elucon.

What worked for me was finding out that I had ‘wet dry eyes’. My eyes were watering constantly and I would rub my eyes and that then trigger the cycle. I thought it was allergies so I’d worked through over-the-counter and then prescription allergy remedies and nothing worked. It wasn’t allergies.

My optician prescribed Hylo Night in eye cream and dry eyedrops and it is almost never a problem now.

I hope you find a solution!

I have had this but steroids did help.

I’m really sorry, it’s horrible to live with.

I’d imagine it’s quite likely your make up is triggering it - could you stop wearing it for a few months to see?

I have had this for months, I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis by a gp from photos and told to use ketoconazole (over the counter athlete’s foot cream!), which I’d need to use for 6-8 weeks before it would start to go. I tried it for 3 months and had constant cycles of my eyes swelling up like an allergic reaction and then crusting over and the skin flaking off. I’ve noticed that my eyes are quite weepy like the pp and it stings when it makes contact with my skin, and I’ve also found that eye drops help with that. I’m using avene soothing eye contour cream, which helps much more than the ketoconazole. I’ve done a bit more research as I’m fed up with looking like a raccoon and found that vitamin b6 deficiency can cause/exacerbate seborrheic dermatitis so I’m taking supplements to see if that helps.
I hope you get somewhere, it’s really frustrating and miserable.
