Scared to eat nuts - health anxiety

I have never been allergic to nuts in my whole 30 years, I am currently pregnant and have bad health anxiety and I am really craving pistachio nuts.
I get really nervous to eat nuts every single time as I am so worried I will develop an allergic reaction out of nowhere :(
What is the likelihood of this to happen?
I've been eaten nuts since I can remember, no issues at all, but I had read you can one day all of a sudden become allergic

It is pretty unlikely, but people do sometimes develop allergies to any kind of foodstuff they have previously been okay with. Please don't worry, speak to your midwife next time and explain how worried you are, so they can put your mind at rest.

You can develop allergies at any time yes. Usually you wouldn't go straight to severe allergies. My auntie developed a nut allergy in her 20s she has a couple of non severe reactions requiring medical attention but mostly gets on with her life. She's worked front of house in pub and restaurants for 20+ years with the allergy without issues.

I developed a histamine intolerance at 21 and went into anaphylaxis twice in 6 months. Super scary but both times I had plenty of time to get medical treatment. The first time my mum drove me to a and E and the second time and ambulance was called to my work place.

So yes you can get allergies at any time
If you do develop an allergy you not likely to have a severe reaction as your first reaction.
Even if you did have a severe reaction you will still have time to get help
A sensible precaution would be to keep antihistamines in the house. Generally a good idea anyway!

I'm a practical person and prone to catastrophising thoughts and tackling each thought with what is likely to happen and should something worse happen what would then happen. Often I find even my worst fears wouldn't be as bad as the initial thoughts suggested they would be.

Do you have anyone to talk to about your anxiety?
