Anyone who’s had children with milk allergies who cut dairy from their diet for breastfeeding purposes - how long did it take for you to see an improvement ?

Also has anyone had a child with a milk allergy that didn’t get better with age? If so - what were the symptoms in the older child ?

Thanks in advance 😊💕

It can take up to 6 weeks for all symtpms to go but I started to notice improvements within a week.

Make sure you check labels carefully, milk is hidden in lots of things. Are you under a dietician? There's a specific way to reintroduce dairy once the child is old enough.

When mine have been older and we have been reintroducing, symptoms have been runny poo, eczema flare up, reflux symtpms, hiccups, belly ache, smelly burps. When they were younger we had vomiting, mucus and blood in poo, eczema.

Thank you for your response. We are under health visitors and doctors at moment, and will be seeing a dietician when she’s at weaning age so I can reintroduce properly. I am currently dairy free but it’s only been a day so was wondering how long it would take to see improvements as she is so rashy, sicky, really unhappy and seems in pain. It’s horrible :(

thank you for the message back x

Aww bless her, hope she starts to feel better soon. My experiences were really positive, within a week or so we had a much happier baby!

We saw an improvement in a week but she was 15 months before she was symptom free. She has 20 food allergies and it took a long time to identify them all!
She's 4 and still failing reintroduction with crumbs of food. The best we have done with the milk ladder is a piece the size of a grain of rice twice a week! We have been told that if we are still at this stage in a years time it is then less likely that she will outgrow them. She also hasn't outgrown her reflux which if anything causes us more issues than her allergies. We are pragmatic and we would like to get her past the baked milk and egg steps but we aren't worried about getting pure forms in
