Cutting out dairy for fussy ebf baby - how long before results

Baby girl is now 8 weeks old and since about 3 weeks old she's been so unsettled. Crying in pain, stringy nappies, trapped wind, violent hiccups multiple times a day, clearing throat, choking on sick up & throwing up and swallowing it. Gp gave us gaviscon for silent reflux a couple weeks ago which helped a little with the reflux symptoms but it's made her so constipated and windier. She's impossible to put down day & night. We sometimes get 5-10 minutes or 40 minutes before the arching, leg lifting and crying starts. The last few nights she's been screaming as soon as she's put down. I've tried white noise, swaddling, tilting the next to me, cycling legs etc. She will only settle if held/cosleeping. Some of her symptoms sound like cmpa so I'm trying cutting out dairy and wondered how long before I'd likely see results?

We noticed a difference in about 5 days. I think ot takes about 2 months to be out of your system.

Are you breast feeding? Milk is lots of things - breads/crisps/biscuits/ some oven chips etc...

Oh it was amazing the difference it made, they became happy and engaged with us! (but our children was much than yours).

Have you chatted to your Health Visitor?

We had prescribed 'milk' for CMP and lactose intolerance.

For us it was around 10-14 days to see a proper change although after a week or so I could tell it was helping

Yeah I'm breastfeeding. Only on day 1 and I'm already so surprised how many things have milk!

Haven't spoken to HV, although haven't spoken to her about anything. We moved house about 6 weeks ago and the HV for this area still hasn't been in touch despite the GP saying they'd give her a nudge!

The big push on veganism saved us!

You can get decent icecream. Though we've never found a decent cheese but my brother recommends the Cathedral plant one...

I hope you see an improvement. Alot of what you said resonated with me. My little one would only sleep on me for 20mins at a time.

Start a food diary at the same time
Don't use soya dairy and meat replacements for the first few weeks as half of babies are allergic to both dairy and soya

We saw an improvement within a week but as she has multiple food allergies she was 15 months before we identified them all and she was symptom free. Food diaries are very helpful and it's always best to start them before you need them then you already had a few weeks of information
I found that my daughter needed to be held and paced around the room a lot more within a few hours of eating something she was allergic to. There were a few other behavioural things like feeding aversions which occurred a day or so before the loose stools.
