Please could you advise me on what the best dairy free milks are? I was advised Oatly but others have said the ingredients are bad? This is all new to me and I'm worrying I'll have to stop breastfeeding 😞

Oatly barista or the blue one are well fortified. My 3 yo has barista as it's the equivalent to whole milk the blue one is more like skimmed milk. You want an oat milk with iodine in and 120mg calcium per 100ml
You will probably want to take a calcium supplement too my dietician recommended 700-800mg
Avoid soya products initially as half of babies react to soya and dairy. Once settled on a dairy free diet you can test soya milk and yoghurts. There's no reason to fully remove soya completely at the start but some women do. I did but I had food diaries that showed a strong correlation between soya meat and my daughters symptoms

Thank you for your help.

May I ask what your daughter's symptoms were and how old she was when she first presented them?

They started at about 1 week with feeding aversions and reflux. She had loose stools and did 20 a day but lock downs and ftm meant I never twigged this was abnormal. She went on gaviscon for the reflux which caused issues with her bowels so that masked some of the stool symptoms. Around 3 weeks she started to get very unsettled and actual and silent reflux got worse. She started on low dose omperazole which didn't do a lot. She steadily got more and more unhappy until 17 weeks when she was permanently unhappy. She had a very strong immune response to her 4 month jabs that triggered inconsolable screaming and this got us Infront of a paediatrician. High dose reflux treatment and medication going dairy and soya free improved the unsettledness. We then started to notice gastric symptoms - increased stools and reflux in response to allergens, rashes as well as feeding aversions and needing to be held. She has 20 food allergies and it took until 15 months to identify them all. She now has tummy pains and loose stools when we try to reintroduce foods. It's not typical to have so many allergies!!
