Cmpa diagnosis for 3 year old

Hi
DD is now 3.5. We've had issues with feeding / gaining weight right from the start and constipation issues since around 12 months.
We went to the GP initially because of tiredness and I noticed blood in her poo.
Fast forward and she's now been diagnosed with cmpa.
So we've gone dairy free. It's only been a week. I'm just wondering when I should expect to see a difference in the poo issues?
Also, has anyone known an older child to grow out of it?

It takes around 6 weeks for dairy to come out their system.

Read every single label.

I've not heard of an older child growing out of it.

DD was diagnosed with cmpa when she was a little baby and at nearly 5 she's still allergic. We were told she would grow out of it around 2/3.

My daughter is 3.5 and has multiple allergies. In our last attempt at the milk ladder (method of reintroducing milk) we got as far as one piece of dairy biscuit the size of a grain of rice every other day before she reacted. This was progress as the previous attempt she failed on the very first piece! Our dietitian and paediatrician are very much of the opinion she will put grow her allergies and I am in a local group with older kids who have outgrown their allergies. I believe after 7 the rates start to drop off but there's a 10 yo in the group who is making good progress up the milk ladder.

You might find it takes a few weeks to see the improvement as it's taken time for the gut to heal from the prolonged exposure.

Thanks. I'm becoming obsessed with labels! Can't believe the things that have got milk in them!

Thank you. How did you get a dietician referral?

Our paediatrician did it but our HV said she could do it if we hadn't had a paeds appointment that week
