Baby potential egg allergy

My 6 month old had eggs for the first time at 930am by 3pm she had developed this rash. No other symptoms.

She also had peach and banana puree for her lunch around 2pm (has had bananas before and been fine but peaches are new to her).

The doctor says they can't be sure what caused the rash and I should try again with egg. I am nervous as she didn't actually ingest any, more just played with it and rubbed around her face. So I am worried if she were to ingest then she may have anaphylactic shock.

Anyone else had baby with allergies and how was this dealt with by doctors?

Thanks!

If that's the advice I'd try her with egg on a day when you know the GP is open and give it to her at 8am so you've got plenty of time throughout the day if she does react.

Allergies generally get worse with exposures and it's quite rare to start with anaphylaxis if that is any reassurance. Also I have had 2 anaphylaxis and in both I had plenty of time to get medical treatment. My mum drove me to the hospital the first time and the second time the ambulance got lost trying to find me due to confusion about the site access and people entrances at my place of work.

As previous person say do it early in the day and during the week when it's easier to get help. Try to have someone around too for reassurance. The egg ladder is baked in a flour matrix (cake or pancake) the heavily cooked (well cooked scrambled egg bordering on rubbery) then light lightly cooked or raw like lightly cooked scrambled eggs or mayonnaise. I would be targeting the middle step where some of the proteins have broken down but it's still eggy enough for the test. (The food ladders are used to reintroduce foods with delayed allergies or immediate allergies that look to be outgrown based on bloods/skin prick tests).

Did you have an EpiPen either time? No judgement. Just wondering if the average person has time to get medical care even without an EpiPen.

No EpiPen either time.

The first time I had previously not had any food allergies. The second time my EpiPen was in my handbag and not my work bag as I had the previous day off work I hadn't transferred them back. My work did have adrenaline on site but it was in a vial with a syringe not a preloaded injectable like an EpiPen and no one thought to contact the onsite Dr she only arrived after following the ambulance. They also had o2 on site so they gave me that too whilst I waited for the ambulance. Most of this is from speaking to others after the fact as I was on the floor with a swollen head unable to see with reduced consciousness. Enough to hear the first aiders panicking but not enough to tell them I could hear them panicking! It felt like a life time but it was 15-20 minutes. They couldn't find a first aider as it was lunchtime and then the debacle with the postcodes. The steroids and antihistamines were starting to have an effect by this point too.

The first time I gave myself antihistamines when my face got itchy. I carried them for seasonal allergies. The second time I took the double dose of antihistamines and steroids I had been prescribed by the allergy clinic at the point of my face getting itchy. For me I now know as soon as I get tingling along my jaw line I'm eating something by body isn't liking.
