Hi all

My dd is 3 years old. She suffers from diarrhoea, tummy pains, bloating, fatigue and is low weight. The diarrhoea has been a consistent from birth.

She's recently been for tests which came back that she was low in a few things, including iron. It also showed signs of inflammation.
The doctor originally thought that she probably had coeliacs disease but the results have come back negative.

Does anyone have any idea as to what else it could be? I can't imagine you can get false negative results for coeliacs?
We've been referred on to paediatrics but the wait is longggggg!

TIA

Have you ever tried eliminating Dairy for a couple of weeks? I've got CMPA and have had all of those symptoms at one time or another.

You can get false negative blood test results in coeliac blood tests. I think you should ask the GP for a referral, see second link below.
https://www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support/coeliac-disease/getting-diagnosed/blood-tests-and-biospy/if-your-tests-are-negative/
It’s possible to have a negative blood test and still have coeliac disease.

https://www.coeliac.org.uk/healthcare-professionals/diagnosis/how-to-test-children/
Children with a positive blood test and those with negative antibodies where coeliac disease is suspected should be referred to a paediatric gastroenterologist or paediatrician with a specialist interest in gastroenterology.

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto hey!

So she wasn't tested for anything else but we are now eliminating dairy to see if we see improvements.
Is it just cows milk that does it for you? Or is it anything that contains milk?

In my husband's case, it's not dairy that he cannot digest - it's lactose. So he's fine on specialist dairy stuff like milk with lactase added, or babybel cheese (no lactose); and occasionally he'll take a lactase supplement so that he can eat risky food like cheesey pizza.

For me it's anything with milk in at all. It's much easier these days though thanks to allergy labelling.

My blood test was negative for celiac as was my endoscopy but because I can't eat the recommended amount of gluten in order to be tested so I have been diagnosed via symptoms only.
I don't know if they'll do a camera down On a 3 year old? as I guess it would need to be done under GA?
If they're going to investigate further you need to keep her on gluten

You can have non celiac gluten intolerance. X
