Has anyone taken an epi-pen on a plane?

We're off on holiday in April and have to take our DD's epi-pen with us. Are airlines ok about them or do I need a letter from our Doc?

To be on the safe side get a letter from your doctor. DH has to give himself weekly injections and the medication can't go in the hold (because of the temperature) so he takes it on board (he flies a lot for business) and has a letter from doctors and it is no prolbem.

you are supposed to have a letter from a doctor. Only once has anyone looked at it, and then not long enough to read it, but you don't want to risk it not being allowed on board. We normally take a copy of the letter the consultant sent our gp as it says the pens should be carried at all times.

Yes that's fine with a doctors letter (I'm cabin crew). Just to let you know we carry one on board too if you ever forget yours.
