Milk intolerance?

Hello 😊 looking for advice/ next steps from anyone with similar experience

3.5 year old has regular bouts of tummy upset (mainly stools which are watery and turn a mustardy yellow colour however the odd sickness also). Have round these regularly come from him eating ice cream (soft scoop, whippy, any that isn't dairy free is guaranteed to have the same effect so we have cut this out all together).
Also white chocolate however, is fine with cheese, butter, blue top milk although he doesn't have loads in his diet, it's almost as though he avoids them in "large" amounts.

Has been a consistency throughout his life and nothing that's just started. He was also terribly colicky/ gassy as a baby on cow & gate stage 1, due to this falling in the lockdowns we moved him to hipp organic and all was ok.

GP referred for blood tests which have all come back clear of any intolerance/ issues. His flare ups leave him drained for a good couple of days and I'm unsure of where to turn next - do we ask for a dietician referral despite the clear tests? Is it worth going for any specific further tests private?

Thank you for any help / advice anyone can offer on where to go next 😊

Your GP doesn’t know their allergies. There is no blood test for a none IGE allergy which if it is an allergy the description sounds like none iGE, probably to cow’s milk protein. And the blood test for lactose intolerance (lack of enzyme for digesting the sugar in milk) is done after fasting for 8 to 12 hours, is this the test he had?

He had just a standard blood test (went to the hospital with the blood form given by gp, no instructions to follow before the test). I'd mentioned all symptoms to the gp about possible lactose so assumed this would be checked in the bloods. Can I request a specific lactose blood test from the gp do you know? Sorry for the daft question, it feels such a minefield & our gp surgery is as though you have to battle for anything nowadays!

I had a lactose blood test at the Hospital after fasting. Summer is right, there's no blood test for non-ige, you just have to remove Dairy from the diet and see if things improve.
