My ds is 8. He will be 9 in August. At present the school keep his Epipens in the staff room but I concerned that if in the event that he may need his Epipen/s that they may not get to it in time, depending on where he is in the school at the time. He has not needed it since attending the school, but you just never know. He is now in Year 4 (we are in the uk). If he has his bum bag around his waiste with his eipens in at all times, then at least if he does need it it is with him.If P.E & they are at the top field(which is not right next to the school... if he needed it then by the time they got the Epipen it could be too late. He wears his medicine bag(bum bag) if he goes out to play, pops to the shop or around his friends house & I am confident enough to allow him to do the same at school, but I think that they may not agree to this. Surely it is my desicion though. I know that myself & the school need to work together but altermately do you think its my decision?.. Is there anyone who's child has responsibility for their own Eipiens or do you think he is too young to be carrying it around with him at school...? Any advise much appreciated.thanks.. Julia

My dd has worn hers to school since the day she got it - she was 4, is 5 now. She has a very cool little carrier that she wears round her waist or over her shoulder. Never had a problem, she also has a second one in the office, as do all 10 epipen users in the school.

Hi I give C's school two epi-pen kits - one for the office and one in a yellow-cross bum-bag for playtimes/ day trips

oooh....never knew that!

oh, does that mean I will need to for me when I get issued with mine?

plus, Q for me......do I need a medi-bracelet, and where/who does the best one?

What are you children allergic to?
My DS is 9, and in year 5. He has an epipen in the classroom (in a small lunchbox with piriton) and an epipen in the office again with piriton probably in a cupboard
At home we have 2 epipen bags one is a bumbag and the other one is in a bag that threads through a belt again both have piriton.
I think it depends what your children are allergic too... ds is allergic to dairy/eggs/nuts.
I am happy with this arrangement.
